Dr. Amir Haghverdi, graduate of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and assistant professor at the University of California; and Dr. Ali Mirchi, assistant professor at Oklahoma State University in Riverside, are the joint winners of Young Researcher Applied Research award in 2021.
Dr. Haghverdi, who holds a PhD Degree in Irrigation and Drainage under the guidance of Dr. Kamran Davari and Dr. Bijan Ghahraman as supervisors at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, received this award for valuable research in the area of sustainable management of water resources in agriculture and irrigation of urban and agricultural spaces.
The University Water Resources Council (UCOWR) is a scientific organization of American universities which conducts research in a variety of water resources majors. This organization awards annual prizes in 9 different categories; and one or two Iranian researchers are usually among the winners each year.
